Red Barn at Outlook Farm | Places to Get Married in Maine

It was almost two years ago that I attended a wedding of a friend as a guest, and it was at a venue I had never been to before. Upon arriving and having the full guest experience, I absolutely loved Red Barn at Outlook Farm, and tucked it away for a later date. Well, the later date came last week when I was able to go visit the space from a wedding photography point of view!

From the moment I reached out to Emily, I felt nothing but good vibes. She was so kind and helpful and more than willing to show me around the space! While I was there I also met Colleen and Rachel, who were just as sweet and kind! I also loved the dynamic between the three of them, who clearly love working weddings at Red Barn at Outlook Farm!

This property is a wonderful choice for a wedding in Maine. It’s located in South Berwick and is a pretty easy spot to get to – including a massive parking lot with easy parking for all your guests!

Here’s what I loved about this wedding venue:

  • Catering is included, which takes one more decision off your already full plate.
  • If the wedding ends up needing to be inside, they transform the Grand Ballroom into a beautiful ceremony spot where you’ll get married in front of a grand fireplace. From a photographer’s point of view – this was absolutely perfect, because they weren’t placed in front of any windows!
  • They have a couple of different ways to orient the space outside for an outside ceremony.
  • Red Barn at Outlook Farm has a couple of sister properties – one of which is the Stage House Inn. This is a great space for the wedding party to get ready and to stay, and is super close to the venue.
  • They only host one wedding a day, so the space is truly yours for the wedding of your dreams!
  • Honestly, what they offer for packages is reasonably all-inclusive, with no surprise fees at the end.
  • They can accommodate up to 200 wedding guests.
  • There are two full service bars which can make a huge difference in the flow for a larger wedding.
  • The venue is also equipped for weddings all year round, and have a heated veranda space for cocktail hour as well to give guests some room to move around and mingle. In the warmer months this veranda is the full length of the ballroom and is a great space for cocktail hour.
  • I know it sounds a little funny – but the bathrooms. They have so much character! When I was there as a guest, my friend came up to me and said “have you gone to the bathroom yet?” When I said no, she said I needed to. And honestly, it was worth the visit. It’s so cute!
  • On site they have a private suite for the wedding party to store things and for final touch ups before beginning the ceremony.
  • Every wedding will have an on-site wedding coordinator for the whole wedding day, which is so great!

You can find a list of their FAQs here, and what they offer for weddings here.

Overall, I absolutely loved this venue and meeting the wonderful ladies who help each wedding day run so smoothly. Also, my friend who got married there? They cannot sing enough praises about Red Barn at Outlook Farm. It truly is a great place to get married in Maine!

Here are a few photos I snagged of the property – a blank slate, if you will.

Thanks for following along with me as I continue to meet with local wedding venues for this Places to Get Married in Maine blog post series!

You can usually find me adding books to my never-ending “to read” list; challenging myself to do things like not shop for a year; sneaking crispy m+ms from my secret hiding spot so I don’t have to share them with my daughter; and melting over seeing my children smiling at each other.

Oh and I guess I should mention - I’m a seasoned Portland wedding photographer who provides not only kick-ass wedding photos, but also a meaningful and laid-back experience from the time you book to the delivery of your final images.
