With over 250 weddings under my belt, I’m working on creating updated resources for potential wedding couples who inquire with me! One of the things I love to do is help share about amazing venues and vendors I’ve worked with these couples! I’ve shared a lot of different places to get married in Maine here on the blog just by sharing specific weddings I’ve photographed. However, I’ve decided I’m going to start working on a featured blog series called “Places to Get Married in Maine.” I’m planning to meet up with local venues and tour them and just chat and get some photos. This way I can pass along info to couples who are still looking for a place to get married! So, that brings me to the first incredible venue – King’s Hill Inn + Barn.
I honestly can’t remember how I first connected with Kate. She’s photographed as my second shooter before, and I’ve had photos taken of myself by her. (can’t wait for family photos with her this spring!!) It took me all of 0.2 seconds to realize I loved her when I first met her. Not to mention, she’s a phenomenal human!! She is the property manager for King’s Hill Inn + Barn, and runs it alongside of her family and an awesome team of event planners.
I met up with her a little while ago and just chatted life, business, and allll about the rich history of King’s Hill Inn! This place is truly magical. The estate is located in Western Maine, and it has the most amazing environment and an incredible property. It’s private, it’s gorgeous, and it embodies everything that Maine is. Just think of the foliage for their fall weddings! So dreamy!
The venue itself has a magnificent 125 year old barn for the reception, and a few options for ceremony spots. They’re all so beautiful I don’t know how anyone can pick just one spot for the ceremony. Not only is it a beautiful spot for the wedding itself, with the original farmhouse available for getting ready, but it also provides lodging for up to 50 guests across the property, depending on what you choose for your weekend.
I talked to Kate quite a bit about the way they run weddings at King’s Hill Inn + Barn. It’s so evident that they have thought through every single detail. They also support couples with planning in such a unique way that I haven’t heard of by another venue! It was so cool to hear and talk about! The team at King’s Hill is so experienced and organized and super committed to bringing your dream weekend to life. I also love that they only do one wedding per weekend so that they are truly able to focus 100% on your day and meeting your needs! After hosting weddings for a decade, they’re totally locked in and are truly experts on weddings.
