Home Birth Photography // Southern Maine

As a photographer, I’m a part of some of the most monumental moments in a person’s life. But, there’s nothing quite as intimate as being a part of a birth story. I photographed the birth of Emily and Nick’s first son, Harrison, and it is an absolute honor to have been able to photograph the home birth of their second son – Callahan Edward!

Callahan finally joined us on June 6th, and Emily was a champion! Emily had originally planned to deliver at the hospital, but with all the restrictions due to COVID, she made a last minute change to having a home birth so that she could have the support she wanted!

We actually ended up having one night where we thought she was going to have the baby, but it didn’t happen. During that first night, their son Harrison was involved for a little while and it was really precious! The second time when I arrived, I was there for about 2.5 hours before Callahan made his arrival!I wanted to share a few photos from this incredible night with you all. Birth photography is just so incredible and will always hold a special place in my heart.

You can usually find me adding books to my never-ending “to read” list; challenging myself to do things like not shop for a year; sneaking crispy m+ms from my secret hiding spot so I don’t have to share them with my daughter; and melting over seeing my children smiling at each other.

Oh and I guess I should mention - I’m a seasoned Portland wedding photographer who provides not only kick-ass wedding photos, but also a meaningful and laid-back experience from the time you book to the delivery of your final images.

I share all things personal, business, tips, and life as a mom and business owner here on the blog!
