Caitlin and Liam’s wedding at Granite Ridge Estate Barn in Norway, Maine was the kind of day that feels just as good as it looks. Set in the mountains of western Maine, this venue is easily one of the most scenic barn wedding locations – especially in late October when the light hits just right and the views completely open up!
From emotional moments during their ceremony to one of the most unique surprises I’ve ever witnessed at a wedding, their day was full of so much joy, intention, and personality. It was the perfect way to wrap up my 2019 wedding season.
I loved their day in its entirety, but if I had to pick a few favorite moments, these are what stand out the most:
A Joy-Filled Ceremony at Granite Ridge Estate Barn
Your ceremony. The amount of laughter and tears I saw coming from both of you and your guests was so incredibly heartwarming. It really reaffirms the choice you’ve made to spend your lives together.
And honestly, it makes it so clear that the people you invited to be part of one of the most meaningful days of your lives are so genuinely ecstatic for you. That kind of energy is e v e r y t h i n g!
The Most Creative Wedding Honeymoon Surprise
The honeymoon reveal! Oh my gosh, I have NEVER seen this before, and it was SO fun to witness!
About a year ago, Caitlin and Liam were with Caitlin’s parents when her mom asked how much she trusted her (which… bold move, haha). That led to her parents gifting them their honeymoon, with one catch: it would be a complete surprise.
They wouldn’t find out where they were going until their wedding day.
Caitlin’s parents revealed they were sending them to Harry Potter World – and if you know Caitlin, you know how much she LOVES Harry Potter. Being able to capture her reaction was such a fun and unforgettable moment!
Sunset Portraits at Granite Ridge Estate in Maine
Our time together at sunset… wow.
Granite Ridge Estate is one of the most beautiful and breathtaking venues I’ve photographed, but to really see it in its full glory, you have to wait for that golden hour light. The way the mountains open up and the light settles in, it’s unreal. Especially in the fall with all of those amazing colors in the trees!
I was absolutely DYING over the views and the light. I hope you love those images as much as I do.
