The Easy Way Out | Boutonnieres

Pinning the boutonnieres. I’m not really sure why, but this tends to be an important photo to have during the wedding prep, and I’m so beyond happy to photograph it! But if we’re being honest, it’s a pain to get them pinned on!

Someone usually ends up getting poked, or it’s not pinned on straight, or it falls out during the day, and it can just be a really big time suck on the wedding day! I’ve put my fair share of boutonnieres on for the men of a wedding party, but I saw something at a wedding last year or the year before that I thought was totally genius.

Magnets.

The boutonnieres were held on with magnets instead of pins! It took all of two seconds to attach them, and they stayed pretty well! It’s such a great idea! It will probably cost more to do it this way, but I think it can be an excellent option! I’m not sure how many florists do this, but it might not hurt to just ask and see what they think 🙂

You can usually find me adding books to my never-ending “to read” list; challenging myself to do things like not shop for a year; sneaking crispy m+ms from my secret hiding spot so I don’t have to share them with my daughter; and melting over seeing my children smiling at each other.

Oh and I guess I should mention - I’m a seasoned Portland wedding photographer who provides not only kick-ass wedding photos, but also a meaningful and laid-back experience from the time you book to the delivery of your final images.

I share all things personal, business, tips, and life as a mom and business owner here on the blog!
