We have a tradition that we started shortly after we were married. We travel to the Red River Gorge every other Thanksgiving for a week of climbing and it’s one of my favorite things to do with my family! Kentucky really is so beautiful, and the rock is just amazing. The ampitheaters alone leave me speechless!
This is our third trip to Kentucky with Lily, and this was probably the most challenging week we’ve ever had as parents. Overall, it was a fantastic trip but it was also our first trip with Lily since she’s been potty trained and that definitely made things really hard on her and us. Also, she refused to sleep in her own bed for most of the week, haha. But if those are the worst things that happened, we made out pretty damn good. It was just really hard to have Lily exhibiting behaviors that she HARDLY ever has, almost daily last week.
But, on the bright side, since moving to MA, it means our drive down and make is considerably shorter and that’s pretty awesome!! We stayed in an AirBNB with a group of friends, and it was complete with ping pong tables so Steven was basically in heaven. One day Lily and I stayed back so she could have a “normal” day and we drove to Lexington to visit the kids museum there and she had a blast! Miguel’s thanksgiving dinner was incredible as usual, and it was just REALLY nice to be with Steven and Lily for an entire week, despite the struggles. Check out a few photos from the week! I actually hardly took any!
This is an Ale8 bottle (ginger soda), btw.
