I heard someone recently say that running a business is like pushing a boulder up a hill. Friends, I can’t even begin to tell you how true that statement has been for me this year. This has been the year that I know someday I’ll look back on and be so happy I didn’t quit, even when that’s all I wanted to do.
Pushing a boulder up a hill is HARD. It’s heavy, it’s awkward, and it’s scary. If you let it go, it can crush you, so you keep pushing. But sometimes you get tired, and the boulder pushes you back a little bit. Other times you get some energy and momentum and you feel like you can RUN while pushing that boulder. Sometimes it’s three steps forward and two steps back.
But here’s thing about pushing a boulder up a hill – you don’t know when you’re about to reach the top. Sometimes the thing that feels most impossible to reach is juuuust out of sight. You just need to hold on for a little bit longer.
We’re all pushing our own boulders, but I wanted you to know today that you’re not alone. Keep pushing that boulder just a little bit further, my friend.
