Most photographers I know look at photos and they look at it through a completely different lens than someone who isn’t a photographer. The first thing I always notice is the LIGHT, and I love seeing photos where the light is during golden hour! What is golden hour, you ask? Well, it’s the hour or so before sunset that provides that soft glowy sunshine that you see coming through the trees as you walk down the road!
I always shoot my engagement sessions as close to golden hour as possible, because the light is so much softer and it really highlights the joy, excitement, and love that you two feel for one another!! It’s just so so dreamy and incredible, and sometimes you can see the beautiful sunset that is taking place. Now, I know it’s not always possible to get portraits on a wedding day at golden hour, depending on when the ceremony is, but if there’s ANY way to make that part of your timeline you totally should! Here are some beautiful examples of photos I’ve taken of sweet couples during golden hour!
