One of my favorite things to do on a wedding day is photograph the details. Couples often put a lot of effort into the details of their day, and they typically follow some sort of theme. Not to mention, details are fun and pretty!! Here is a list of things that make the start of my time with you go super quickly and efficiently if they are all ready ahead of time! 🙂
#1. Invitations
If a couple sends me an invitation I will do my best to remember to bring it with me to include in photos! Having an invitation for me to photograph is a great way to style other details, as well as capture a photo of such an important part of making the wedding happen! I know that I personally hand-made each wedding invitation and I love that I have one in my scrapbook and a photo of it as well!
#2. Rings
Ring photos are probably my favorite thing to do. Having all THREE rings is important so that I can ensure that we get all the photos with the rings while we have the time. If not, I just grab them at the reception, but it is easier to do when everyone is getting ready! 🙂 I’ve never lost a ring and I promise they will all get back to the appropriate bridesmaid and groomsman.
#3. Jewelry
Necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and anything else you may have for jewelry that day are great to photograph as well. It’s also better to not put them on until I’ve photographed them, because then I can photograph you actually putting the jewelry on!
#4. Dress
The dress is a no-brainer 😉
#5. Flowers
The flowers for you and your bridesmaids, as well as the boutonnieres for the men are important! A lot of time is spent picking these out so we want to make sure they’re well documented! Flowers can also very easily set the scene for the day as they usually pop up again in the decor. We will immediately put them back in the fridge or in water to make sure that they stay super fresh until the ceremony!
#6. Shoes
Shoes are also super fun to photograph – especially if there is something unique about them!
#7. Anything special
Whether it’s a pin that once belonged to your great-grandmother, or a broach someone wore dancing, the pearls your mom wore at her wedding, or anything that has sentimental value to you that you plan to include in your day – I want to see it and hear about it! Little super personal touches like these are so important! I love hearing the stories behind them 🙂
#8. Perfume
Perfume is always cool to include in the photos as well, as a little reminder of what you used that day! I hope this list is helpful to brides preparing for their big day!! xoxo
