[TLDR; This Danversport wedding was so unique and dreamy!] They met in a locked psych ward; but not because they were patients. Sara + Mike were in their third year of residency and were on their psychiatry rotations. As Sara put it: “We had a lot of down time on that rotation, and we were both interested in each other more than we were interested in Psychiatry.” By the end of that third year of med school, they had were pretty serious about each other. So they decided to try to get their residency placement near each other – and the universe was on their side!
It wasn’t much longer before they were able to finagle time off together, and Mike suggested they splurge and go to Italy…. where he PROPOSED! Sara was completely surprised, and as they say – the rest is history.
Because of a monsoon (okay, not really a monsoon, but it was pretty dang close), we didn’t get to do an engagement session together. So, the first time we met was actually on their wedding day! Despite not meeting them beforehand, walking into their wedding day felt like saying hello to a dear friend. I had the absolute best time with these two. Getting to see them interact, and see all that went into their incredible wedding at the Danversport was so amazing!
They had some really unique parts of their wedding day that I loved – like the custom jewelry they had made from a family jeweler; the true Persian ceremony they held immediately after their American ceremony (and oh my gosh is it elaborate and STUNNING); the Persian dances; and I could go on and on. Sara and Mike created this day to reflect and honor their heritage and families. And, more importantly, the love they have for each other!
Sara + Mike – thank you for choosing me. It was an absolute honor to have photographed your wedding day!
