What are you grateful for?

Some things in this world are contagious, like a smile. Another thing I think is contagious is being grateful. When you are surrounded by people who regularly express what they’re grateful for, it reminds US of the things we have to be grateful for. A grateful heart = a content heart in my opinion.

I started a no-shopping challenge in the middle of July last summer, and it’s still going strong. And though I’ve never really been one to shop, this experience has been really fantastic for me. I thought I was grateful before, and now I feel like it’s on a whole new level. I am SO damn happy with everything I have in my life, and I don’t wish I had more or the shiniest new thing out there. I’m so content with life and it’s a GOOD thing.

So, since I believe being grateful is contagious, here are the things I’m grateful for:

  • Clothes for our bodies.
  • The way Lily will sit with us and read a zillion books.
  • Steven, and all the things he does for us.
  • Cookbooks – I love to try new things and mine have been getting some pretty heavy use lately! They also help keep us from ordering takeout a lot 🙂
  • The library. Not only because Lily LOVES storytime, and the librarians are so great with her, but because I love having a resource for reading new books!
  • My free Harry Potter printable calendar. It makes me so happy to look over at it whenever I’m at my desk.
  • Burning my favorite candle 🙂
  • The friendships I’ve made!
  • Having a membership to the children’s museum.
  • Blogilates – my favorite way to work out from home!
  • My photo albums and scrapbooks. I absolutely treasure these and look through several of them on a very regular basis!
  • YOU – for taking the time to read this and follow along on my journey.

I could really keep going, but I’ll end it there. What are you grateful for today?! Share in the comments!

You can usually find me adding books to my never-ending “to read” list; challenging myself to do things like not shop for a year; sneaking crispy m+ms from my secret hiding spot so I don’t have to share them with my daughter; and melting over seeing my children smiling at each other.

Oh and I guess I should mention - I’m a seasoned Portland wedding photographer who provides not only kick-ass wedding photos, but also a meaningful and laid-back experience from the time you book to the delivery of your final images.

I share all things personal, business, tips, and life as a mom and business owner here on the blog!
