Hey friends! There’s a lot of advice floating around on the internet these days about how to plan your wedding. For each wedding, my brides fill out a questionnaire and at the end I ask for any advice they’d like to share. So, I wanted to share those answers with you today!
From Katie:
“Use Linda Barry as your Photographer!! She sends the cutest, most thoughtful gifts to keep your stress levels down during the planning process. She is also always on-top of deadlines, and easy to keep in touch.”
From Kelly:
“Have fun and don’t sweat the small stuff!”
From Megan:
“Take time out of the busy planning to remember why you are getting married! Linda, you have reminded us of this several times during the planning process and we really appreciate it!”
From Jane:
“Relax, have fun, and focus on the most important part: marrying your best friend!”
From Meagan:
“TAKE YOUR TIME! You’ve made your initial commitment when she/he proposed, hold on to that! This is the only time you’ll be his fiance-use that word until it makes others sick. Taking a longer time lets you enjoy being engaged without the pressures of jumping right to the wedding. You know you love her so take your time, enjoy this “courtship” and think about your REALISTIC wedding. Taking a 3 year engagement worked for our lives specifically but it also gave us plenty of time to create new ideas, reject ideas, and create some more. We had the time to plan a wedding that was realistic to our overall goals and plans. We have each other, at the end of the day, rain or shine, that’s all we need.”
From Katie:
“Give yourself time and make sure you take it. I did nearly everything myself; my advice is that wedding planners or coordinators are wonderful!”
From Melanie:
“Plan the wedding together – it takes the stress off of the bride and you are able to make sure it is what you both want. The wedding and all the planning is about the bride and groom – not everyone else, so make sure you are happy with everything.”
Well, there it is! Advice from brides who just finished planning one of the biggest events in their lives! If you have any advice you’d like to add – do so in the comments! To see the 2016 edition, click HERE! 🙂
