Today marks the first post in a mini series of posts about progress. As a photographer, you should only compare your work to your own! It is the best way to see how far you’ve come, and to see how your work has evolved into a style that is truly YOU. You don’t want to get caught up in being like another photographer. Personally, I struggle with this. I frequently remind myself that while other photographers are very good, so am I. The photos I deliver are of good quality, and they’re beautiful (that’s probably one of the very few times I’ll ever publicly compliment myself!), and that’s why people come to me — they know I’m reliable and will deliver what they want! 🙂 I adore maternity shoots. There’s so much you can do with them, and they’re so much fun!!
Looking back at my first maternity shoot, to my most recent one in May of 2011, it’s incredible to see how I’ve changed! My editing is MUCH more simple now, so that the original look is maintained as much as possible. I want my photos to last the test of time, and to not follow an editing fad. I like clean and simple 🙂 That is one of the biggest improvements I’ve seen, as well as an improvement in my skills with a camera! Take a look at these four photos over time, and see for yourself!
We all start somewhere, and progress is success! I’m very excited to show you the various ways I’ve improved in my photography!
