Portland, Maine Photographer :: Spaghetti Braid

Tonight, I’m sharing one of my favorite recipes with you all! A spaghetti braid! It’s so easy to make, and it’s so deliciously yummy!

Ingredients:

  • Frozen loaf of bread dough
  • Spaghetti
  • Sauce
  • Cheese
  • Egg white
  • Seasoning of your choice

#1. Let the dough thaw so that it’s easy enough to work with and roll out. Grease a cookie sheet, and roll out the dough on the sheet. Try to keep it even while you roll it out so it doesn’t tear during the braid, or have a thin crust at the bottom.

#2. Cut strips into each side. I use a pizza cutter. You don’t want to cut all the way into it – if you divide the dough into thirds the long way, the outside thirds will be the strips.

#3. Once the strips have been made, and your spaghetti has already been cooked and mixed with sauce, pour out the spaghetti in the center of the dough – in between the strips. Sprinkle cheese, and extra sauce if you wish, on the top of the spaghetti.

#4. Braid the dough! You just criss-cross the dough so that it sticks to the other side. I forgot to get photos of me actually doing the braid but it’s pretty easy!

#5. Once the dough has been braided, I paint on some egg white and then sprinkle it with garlic, oregano, and whatever herbs I feel like throwing on that night 🙂

#6. Throw it into the oven at 350 degrees for 25 minutes and you’re good to go! I love this recipe. It doesn’t take very long to make, and it is so filling!

Oh and I guess I should mention - I’m a seasoned Portland wedding photographer who provides not only kick-ass wedding photos, but also a meaningful and laid-back experience from the time you book to the delivery of your final images.
