Portland, Maine Photographer :: Embarrassing moments :: Linda Barry Photography

Day 10– Most embarrassing moment(s).

This one is really hard! I don’t get embarrassed very easily (except for the time I told my friend’s mom that she sounded like a smurf on the phone – I thought it was my friend I was talking to OR the time I mistook a set of twins for two girls when it was really a boy and girl!), but I was able to come up with a pretty embarrassing moment nonetheless.

A couple of months ago, I went to New Jersey to visit one of my best girlfriends for the “weekend” – it was really more like 24 hours – and had an absolute blast! One of the things we did was buy a new outfit to go out dancing.

I. love. dancing.

But I haven’t been in a couple of years. The last time I went dancing was before I was married! For some reason, I was super nervous to go out dancing, and it was totally weird. I don’t really get nervous about going out! Looking back, it must have been the universe’s way of telling me that something bad was going to happen.

Towards the end of the night, me, Amy, and her cousin are dancing and just having fun, when all of a sudden I’m on the ground. I had essentially been taken out by a human bowling ball. I was wearing a skirt. The floor was covered with alcohol-soaked napkins. Get the visual?

I was mortified!

A bunch of people thought I just fell, but I didn’t! We went home pretty soon after that, haha. It was SO embarrassing. Maybe the nerves were a bad omen? I don’t know. Either way, I’m glad we went, and I had a ton of fun 🙂

What’s your most embarrassing moment? Tell me about it in the comments!

You can usually find me adding books to my never-ending “to read” list; challenging myself to do things like not shop for a year; sneaking crispy m+ms from my secret hiding spot so I don’t have to share them with my daughter; and melting over seeing my children smiling at each other.

Oh and I guess I should mention - I’m a seasoned Portland wedding photographer who provides not only kick-ass wedding photos, but also a meaningful and laid-back experience from the time you book to the delivery of your final images.

I share all things personal, business, tips, and life as a mom and business owner here on the blog!
