My word for 2020

Y’all KNOW how much I love my PowerSheets and everything they stand for! When I started my PowerSheets in December, I was struggling because I was going through a bit of a slump emotionally. So I decided to wait a week and then come back to it and I’m SO glad I did! I was able to really work through some fears I have, discover what exactly it is I wanted to focus on, and what I wanted my word for 2020 to be.

As I was doing all the prep work, a common theme kept coming up for me for things I was hoping for in the new year. I feel like I ended 2019 at my weakest – emotionally, mentally, and physically. So much of what I was hoping for in this year manifested itself almost in a form of re-discovering myself. I came up with a list of different words, and their definitions, but the word that I landed on for 2020 is:

STRENGTHEN.

I want to strengthen my mind, my body, my relationships – #allthethings. I want to feel like myself again, and it’s almost as if I’ve been wandering aimlessly these last six months.

Some of my goals for this year include:

  • making time for myself and new hobbies a priority;
  • starting preschool at home with Lily;
  • documenting our life;
  • learning new skills;
  • pursuing financial freedom;
  • and a few other things I’m pretty stoked about.

The goals I’ve set for this year have me actually feeling excited and motivated. I’m SO pumped to put in the work and, frankly, to stop making excuses. I plan to kick fear right in the face and do things outside of my comfort zone.

Mostly, I plan to feel alive this year 🙂

What are some of your goals this year?! I’d love to know!

You can usually find me adding books to my never-ending “to read” list; challenging myself to do things like not shop for a year; sneaking crispy m+ms from my secret hiding spot so I don’t have to share them with my daughter; and melting over seeing my children smiling at each other.

Oh and I guess I should mention - I’m a seasoned Portland wedding photographer who provides not only kick-ass wedding photos, but also a meaningful and laid-back experience from the time you book to the delivery of your final images.

I share all things personal, business, tips, and life as a mom and business owner here on the blog!
