I never used to be a dress person, just generally speaking. But after I became a teacher, I found some awesome dresses at Goodwill. I tried to wear one for a wedding, but it was clingy and I was always adjusting it. But when I wore anything else, I was also always adjusting what I was wearing!
In May, I wore a gray dress that I love to wear with teaching to a wedding, and I fell in LOVE with wearing a dress! The only drawback is it didn’t have pockets! So, I went shopping recently and found a kick-ass dress at Burlington Coat Factory that was within my budget, had pockets, isn’t clingy, isn’t super flowy, and can be worn while teaching as well.
So, if you’re a female photographer and have questioned shooting in a dress, you should give it a shot for the following reasons:
- Girl, things just breathe SO much easier! I definitely don’t get as warm shooting in a dress.
- You never have to pull your shirt down to make sure nothing’s being exposed around the waist.
- If the dress has pockets, it is way more professional to store lens caps and batteries in your pockets instead of your bra. Oh? That’s just me that does that? Okay.
- You can still wear a pair of spandex shorts underneath or something if you get nervous about scootching down or climbing things.
Definitely give wearing a dress while shooting a shot 🙂 You just have to find the right one! I’m SO glad I found mine!!
