My husband made me want to cry.

I absolutely adore my husband. I can’t even get mad at him, because he’s just so dang cute and always tries to be so helpful. The other night I was expressing some frustration, especially in the fact that I can’t even look at him when I’m trying to be mad at him. We had a great conversation, as usual, and he said something that was just so touching, it made me want to cry tears of happiness! (I just want to put it out there that my husband has never made me cry from being a jerk or something!)

“I don’t know if you know this, but you’re pretty inspirational.”

It COMPLETELY blew me away.

Inspirational?! What is this magic?!

As many of you know, I’ve been really focused recently on LIVING life, and not just going through the motions. Steven has listened to me essentially dream vomit non-stop for the past few months. We’ve set goals for our life together and figured out how my businesses and dreams fit into that.

He told me the other night that he’s been doing a lot of thinking himself lately after hearing me talk a lot about the kind of life I want to have, and seeing me work so hard to create this photography business (which has turned into more than I could ever have dreamed at this point).

Love this man so much! :)

Love this man so much! 🙂

Everything that I’ve been saying and doing has inspired him to start thinking about starting his own business in IT from home. Granted, that won’t happen right away because he has to finish school, and he’s excited to work at the new rock gym when it opens. We’re just enjoying this season in our life and doing everything we can to set us up for success with making all of our dreams come true.  But I’ve gotten him thinking. He’s feeling as inspired as I’ve felt lately!

Now, you may be thinking I’m tooting my own horn. But I’m not. I’m the last person to do that, honestly.

I’m telling you all this because the lesson I learned from this is that even if you think that what you’re doing isn’t anything special, you could be completely impacting and inspiring someone else’s life without even knowing it.

With that being said, you don’t have to be doing something extraordinary. Just keep being yourself and sharing your hopes and dreams without any shame. Make them happen and let people share in your excitement and accomplishments – no matter how big or small they may seem.

It’s kind of like that quote about smiling, the one about not knowing who could be falling in love with your smile?

It’s kind of the same thing here. You NEVER know who you could be inspiring.

You can usually find me adding books to my never-ending “to read” list; challenging myself to do things like not shop for a year; sneaking crispy m+ms from my secret hiding spot so I don’t have to share them with my daughter; and melting over seeing my children smiling at each other.

Oh and I guess I should mention - I’m a seasoned Portland wedding photographer who provides not only kick-ass wedding photos, but also a meaningful and laid-back experience from the time you book to the delivery of your final images.

I share all things personal, business, tips, and life as a mom and business owner here on the blog!
