My experiences with a second shooter

This blog post is basically just to give a giant shout-out and thanks to my second shooter for this wedding season – Rebecca of RW Photo!

I am so thankful to have worked with such a talented photographer this year. We not only grew as photographers, but as friends, and it has been so amazing! There have been so many times that Becky has allowed me to play with her equipment to practice new skills. She’s been a test subject countless times at weddings so that we don’t pull the bride and groom away from their guests for too long. She always has my back, and pulls out creative stuff when my mind just freezes up.

We work SO well together, and I can’t imagine having anyone else working with me at a wedding. It’s like we can just read each other’s minds, and we always communicate our expectations and intentions. We tell it like it is 🙂

I think one of the reasons that we’ve worked so well together is that we both have similar passions for photography, and we have similar styles that are just different enough to give a well rounded set of images to our clients. We don’t have any more weddings until June at this point, and it’s going to be so weird to not be seeing her every weekend and stopping at several food stores on the way to a wedding!

Anyway, thank you for all that you did for me Becky! I can’t wait to see how much we grow as photographers next year!

You can usually find me adding books to my never-ending “to read” list; challenging myself to do things like not shop for a year; sneaking crispy m+ms from my secret hiding spot so I don’t have to share them with my daughter; and melting over seeing my children smiling at each other.

Oh and I guess I should mention - I’m a seasoned Portland wedding photographer who provides not only kick-ass wedding photos, but also a meaningful and laid-back experience from the time you book to the delivery of your final images.

I share all things personal, business, tips, and life as a mom and business owner here on the blog!
