If I could sit and read a book all day, I think I’d be the happiest lady on the planet. It’d be even sweeter if I could get paid to read books! Here are the latest four books I’ve read!
THE TIME KEEPER by Mitch Albom | OH. EM. GEE. This book is amazing. Since reading it, I think of time in an entirely different light, and it’s amazing to see how much truth there is to this book. As humans, we are always keeping track of time and worrying about time instead of just living and enjoying our life. I really enjoy reading books by Mitch Albom. This book is also fairly short, so I got through it pretty quickly.
THE PLEASURE OF MY COMPANY by Steve Martin | I actually wasn’t going to buy this book. I had two Steve Martin books in my hands at Bull Moose (because I was baffled that this awesome actor was also an author) and I put this one back and kept the other. I got to the counter and the guy who helped me check out was raving about this book and how awesome it is. It’s a really neat book, especially in the way that it’s written – no chapters! It took me a little longer to read it because I wasn’t particularly pulled to read it every chance I could (again, I think because of the lack of chapters). It did not end at all like I thought it would and because of that I definitely recommend this one. It’s a great book (despite how long it took me to finish it) and I can’t wait to read another one of his books!
BOSSYPANTS by Tina Fey | Oh man, this book made me laugh a lot! It was a really awesome memoir by Tina Fey and I highly recommend it because of its light-hearted nature. And the laughs. Especially the laughs. I think a lot of fierce women out there would appreciate this book!
THE LEMON ORCHARD by Luanne Rice | This is one of my all time favorite authors. I read a significant amount of her books while I was in high school, and haven’t read any of hers in a few years. The Lemon Orchard is one of her more recent books and is heartbreaking, in the best way possible. Such a great story about love family! I read this entire book in one weekend. I literally read this book every spare minute I had that weekend. It was the best!
