It’s no secret that I LOOOOVEEE to read. I buy books faster than I can read them, and I end up with enough books to keep me reading for two solid years. I’m okay with that. It’s not exactly the library from Beauty and the Beast, but I’m happy with the library I do have!
With that being said, I’ve decided to start a new series of “Good Reads,” which is just going to be reviews of the books that I read for fun!
Winning the bid (let’s face it, we were the only one who bid, so no “winning” per se) on the stack of 15 books at the silent auction was really great because it helped to diversify my selection of books because I tend to favor authors. That silent auction led me to these three great books that I read recently!
Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) by Mindy Kaling | I’ve never read a book like this before. It was like having a conversation with Mindy. A really hilarious one! It was a quick read and I chuckled out loud quite a bit! Definitely recommend this one!
The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley | This book was published in the 80s, and is almost 900 pages. It took me 11 weeks of consistently reading it, but it was great! It was not what I expected it to be at all and it was a really pleasant welcome. This book follows the story of one lady from the times of King Arthur and it spans probably 70 years in the book. It was so well written and all of it just flowed together so flawlessly! I really like how it focused on the women from the time of the King Arthur legends 🙂
Landline by Rainbow Rowell | I read this book in less than 24 hours, despite being 300 pages. It was an easy read and I REALLY enjoyed it! I loved how the author used parentheses throughout the story 🙂 Who doesn’t love reading a book that has a phone that lets you talk to someone you love in the past?! It was fun and made me laugh.
