I shared a reel on my instagram account a few weeks ago. In this reel I was setting up my 2022 Bullet Journal. Nothing could have prepared me for the reaction I got from this. I had several comments asking for more details, over 3k views on it, and about 12 more private conversations I was having in my DMs. After all the flurry, I put up a poll asking if people wanted me to share more details abou my bullet journal supplies, and the response was an overwhelming YES.
So, here we are today. Talking about one of my favorite things ever – office supplies and the bullet journal.
What’s a bullet journal?
Simply put, it can be whatever YOU need it to be. Some people use it as a planner, some use it as a way to jot down thoughts and goals, others use it to track habits. Or, you can do all of the above in one! That’s the beauty of it. It truly comes down to whatever you find you need in your life. I wrote this blog post about it years ago, that despite the age, I think it still explains it in more detail pretty well! Apparently, there’s this video I made too that I forgot about. The video really goes into a lot of detail with what I put in my bullet journal!
What I use my bullet journal for:
I primarily use it as a planner. I also have extra pages in there for “brain dump” pages, a “books I’ve read page” and a debt snowball tracker. Now that this is my fifth year doing it, I’ve really been getting more into the creative side of the spreads, and I love it. I keep my weekly spreads very simple but I love doing a little extra on the monthly spreads, and my extra pages for tracking.
My favorite bullet journal:
Okay, this one by Minimalism Art is my favorite one so far. I’m on my third bullet journal from this company. I like the size of the book. It has dotted grid pages, which is my preference, and the pages hold up well to a lot of ink usage. Oh, and I like that it has different colors for the covers!
My favorite writing utensils:
I LOVE office supplies. I’m pretty sure we all have our own favorite types of pens and whatnot, but I go crazy for the Pilot Precise v7 pens for my everyday writing. I’ve also been using these mildliners quite a bit for highlighting/adding color to my weekly pages – y’all know how much I love color!
This year I expanded my collection to include these:
- Tombow colored brush pens // I can’t even tell you how much self control it has taken to not buy more sets in different colors. They work so well and love using them for my more detailed pages!
- Tombow black pens
- Sakura Micron Pens
Other honorable mentions:
Well, I guess there’s only one honorable mention, haha. I have been known to use washi tape on the edges of my pages. That way if I’m trying to find a special page quickly, I can just flip to the pages edged with washi tape! I have used it on pages like future log, each month, brain dump, etc. Plus, they’re just fun and pretty to use 🙂
I keep all of these supplies in a zipper pouch that I got from Cultivate What Matters and it’s perfect!
Well there you have it! All my favorite bullet journal supplies all in one place!
