Are you ready to hear the most wild birth story you’ve ever heard? Well, it might not be for you, but I’ve definitely never known someone who has had Melinda’s birth story. She planned to do an in-home birth due to all things covid, and she ended up delivering her own baby. Right there in her bathroom, in the middle of the night, with just her and her daughter. Her whole labor was about an hour and she told me she didn’t even push. Asher just came out. And she didn’t even get to use the birthing tub, haha.
Like, what!? Talk about the most superhuman mom status ever!! And probably the most ideal birth ever.
I was so honored to photograph Melinda, Ariel and Asher together in their home as they start this new season of life together. Ariel is such a good big sister, and though she was a bit camera shy, it was clear how much she loves her mama and her new baby brother. Melinda is killing it, and there was such a peace about her and she spoke with such calmness. It was incredible, and I loved being able to photograph it!
