One year ago today, we announced our long-awaited pregnancy to the world. Six years ago today, we decided we no longer felt like we were single.
I write Steven letters while he’s at work. It’s how our relationship started because Steven didn’t have a phone. The most recent letter I wrote to him I was reminiscing about the start of our life together. We met at a CRMA training a little over 6 years ago, and I am so thankful that he somehow thought the tired, slumped over girl wearing sweatpants, a sweatshirt, and baseball hat over the course of three days was attractive. I can’t really imagine what my life would be like now if it wasn’t for that training for our job. It’d be a lot different, that’s for sure. All I know is that I don’t want to experience life without him.
Steven, I know you think celebrating this anniversary is a little silly, and I can’t say I really blame you. After all, we’ve been married for just about as long as we’ve been a couple. I adore our life together. I love looking back on the “good ole days” and loving where we were then, but loving where we are now even more.
Thank you for being my partner in life. Thank you for celebrating today with me. I can’t wait to order take-out and rent a movie tonight after our little girl is in bed for the night!
Now how about this photo of us from 2013 – a year after we moved to Portland and began the greatest chapter of our lives! We look like babies then 🙂
