It’s crazy to think that it’s already been essentially a month since school started with the students. It’s definitely been a month since school started for teachers, due to workshops.
It’s flown by.
I know that the rest of the year will continue to fly by. I’m facing a whole new set of challenges in regards to curriculum, standards, and balancing all the aspects of my life. I’m constantly setting goals for myself, and at the same time, creating limits. I know how easy it is to make something your entire life, and I am continuing to make it a point to not let teaching BE my life. It’s a PART of my life that I happen to adore.
Honestly, I think that the fact that I work so hard to keep aspects of my life separate is what makes me able to keep functioning, and not feel resentful or burned out.
I’m loving being here. My department is absolutely amazing on so many levels, the principals here are awesome, and I’m actually getting involved at this school. I’m participating in an after school program that helps students complete their work, and I will also be participating in a mentoring program! It’s pretty nice!
There are not enough spaces for me to create lists to keep track of everything, but there never is 🙂 I’m looking forward to the rest of this year!
