24 Rules for living a good life

rules for a good life

There’s no such thing as a stupid question.

Never break a pinky promise.

Be humble.

It is more important to be kind and compassionate, than it is to be right.

Remember the little things – they seem to count the most.

Do yoga.

Find a hobby.

Send letters to your gram.

Eat well.

Go on dates with your significant other.

Never give up singing in the car. Or the shower.

Let your friends and family know how important they are to you.

Don’t use technology during dinner. Put the phone away, turn off the TV. Enjoy each other’s presence.

Communicate. Communicate. Communicate. Without it, feelings are hurt, and people are misunderstood.

It’s okay to change your mind. And then change it again.

When things are going wrong, remember all the things that are going right.

Make good choices.

Read a good book. Then loan it to someone.

Print your photos. Hang them up.

Don’t spend more than you have.

Help those who need it.

If a street performer makes you stop, you owe him a buck (read this online a few weeks ago!).

Visit/call your parents on a regular basis.

Make your own rules, and then live by them.

Dream big.

You can usually find me adding books to my never-ending “to read” list; challenging myself to do things like not shop for a year; sneaking crispy m+ms from my secret hiding spot so I don’t have to share them with my daughter; and melting over seeing my children smiling at each other.

Oh and I guess I should mention - I’m a seasoned Portland wedding photographer who provides not only kick-ass wedding photos, but also a meaningful and laid-back experience from the time you book to the delivery of your final images.

I share all things personal, business, tips, and life as a mom and business owner here on the blog!
