I met them two years ago, and right away I knew that I wanted to be their wedding photographer when the time came. It had nothing to do with the fact that their wedding would be really awesome and have unique details, but because Meag and Brad are the kind of people you meet and you instantly feel at home with them. They’re genuine, kind, and compassionate. Most of all, they are madly in love and it shows!
This past weekend I had the absolute honor of being the one to capture their wedding day.
“Oh my gosh, is she coming? Is she going to be in the photo behind me? This is so exciting!” Brad was hands down the most excited groom I’ve ever worked with. He could NOT take his eyes off of Meag all day and he was her own personal fan club, always telling her how beautiful she was and how much he loved her.
My favorite parts of the day? Well, there were many, but I’ll share a few:
- they exchanged their vows in private during a first look before their ceremony.
- instead of a unity candle ceremony they had a unity TREE ceremony where they combined dirt from their childhood homes with a peach tree they are going to plant on the property of their first home!
- the favors were seeds that they had roasted themselves! They even had their roasted nuts included in the buffet!
- they literally ran down the aisle at the end of the ceremony because they were SO excited!
- and they had a vegan wedding. It was SO yummy and so neat! I’ve never been to a wedding like that before!
Anyway, let’s get to the good stuff, shall we? I had a blast doing photos on their property and then on the UMASS Amherst campus where they rekindled their relationship! Meag and Brad – thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your day. I’ll never forget it!
