What if I told you that being a good photographer doesn’t have to do with the photos you take?
Don’t get me wrong, having high quality photographs IS important, but there’s so much more to it than that. On a wedding day, I can’t tell you how many times a guest has come up to me and said “Your photos are amazing, thank you so much for being here today!” but they haven’t actually seen a single photo. Not one.
How do they know they’re going to be good photos? Well, they don’t know. But they DO know that I’m a good person who absolutely loves what I do! They see how passionate I am about weddings, marriage, and photography. They’ve seen me do the happy dance when I get a killer photo that I’m super excited about. The quality of my photos has automatically been heightened because of the EXPERIENCE I’m giving, not just to my couple who is getting married, but to everyone I cross paths with!
So, on a wedding day, it is important to take great photos. I don’t need to tell you how super important this piece is! Unfortunately, I do need to tell you that how you act matters. Be kind, be compassionate, and put yourself in their shoes. Don’t get bent out of shape over the things that don’t matter in the grand scheme of things.
Love your clients well, and love their friends and family well and they’ll be singing your praises long before they’ve even seen their full gallery of images!
I hope that this short and sweet post could be some encouragement to someone today!
