When to schedule your session | Tips for Couples

This is a short and sweet tip for my couples! When it comes down to scheduling your session, it is super important that we schedule it at the BEST time of the day so that you get your investment’s worth! These times of day are within the first hour after the sun rises, and within the two hours before the sun sets! This means we schedule your session on the weeknights or weekends to best accommodate your work schedule!

This is also something to keep in mind when planning your wedding ceremonies. Your ceremony should be just a few hours before sunset so that the ceremony itself is in flattering light, and there’s still plenty of light left afterwards for those romantic couples portraits!

With that being said, we live in Maine, so we have to think about the weather! When couples book with me, we schedule a session date and then a BACKUP date so in case the weather is terrible (rainy/too cold/windy/snowy, etc.) we already have a date ready to go that we’ve all blocked off in our schedules!

Here are some beautiful examples of why I feel so strongly about scheduling sessions during these two time frames!

You can usually find me adding books to my never-ending “to read” list; challenging myself to do things like not shop for a year; sneaking crispy m+ms from my secret hiding spot so I don’t have to share them with my daughter; and melting over seeing my children smiling at each other.

Oh and I guess I should mention - I’m a seasoned Portland wedding photographer who provides not only kick-ass wedding photos, but also a meaningful and laid-back experience from the time you book to the delivery of your final images.

I share all things personal, business, tips, and life as a mom and business owner here on the blog!
