Photo of the Day – March

I know, it’s May. But I haven’t fallen behind with my photo of the day project! I’m only behind in posting the updates, haha. This pregnancy has been kicking my butt so I’ve been “behind” in a lot of my usual activities. But now I’m starting to feel like a human being again and I’m excited to share updates from my photo project!

Since I’ve been so sick, I can see now looking back at these photos I’ve been taking the “easy” way out, and mostly just photographing Lily every day. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with that, but part of this project for me is to also try new things and challenge myself! So, I’m hoping that I’ll be able to add some more diversity into this again 🙂

Without further ado, here is March’s photo of the day project!

// Steven and I had a little home date night and redboxed this movie. It was pretty good!

// Lily helping me make banana bread! She loves adding in the chocolate chips and then keeping some for herself to eat.

// It was a nice day so we were off to the playground!

// It’s kind of hard to tell, but Lily is teaching her friend “Red” (the stuffed red panda on the other yoga mat) how to do yoga. She’s so adorable!

// This was the day Lily decided she wanted to give herself a sleeve of tattoos, haha.

// I got to photograph my sweet friend’s new son, Deacon!

// I don’t remember where we were going, but Steven snagged this photo of Lily pretending to be asleep.

// I love these water painting pages! So fun and easy! Keeps her occupied for a while too 🙂

// It was 70 degrees with a warm breeze this day. Lily had the best time playing outside!

// Today was the first time we got to see our newest babe. We saw the super strong heartbeat, and I cried, as usual.

// These are mystery tulips. I didn’t plant them, and before I added these cinder blocks to make my own garden when we moved in, there were no flowers in this spot. But last year these tulips popped up through one of the blocks, and here they are again! I have no idea how they got there!

// Lily was helping Daddy pack for his climbing trip.

// We’ve been playing a lot of card games, since I haven’t been able to play with Lily like I usually do.

// My Zz plant hasn’t grown anything new in a while, and it always seems to shoot up these beautiful new green stems overnight!

// My sister came down to visit for the weekend and we brought her to the river for the first time!

// Lily FINALLY wasn’t sick anymore and got to meet Deacon! She was SO excited!

// Maybe she’ll be an engineer one day?

// Exploring with our best buds!

// Lily loves helping Nana bake! They were making biscuits here.

// Lily loves having a little baby doll carrier now!

// We made a pit stop at Auntie’s house on the way back to MA, and Lily couldn’t pass up the idea of bubbles!

// Always reading to her friends 🙂

// Bath time with daddy! I love how he makes her laugh.

// Another fun day of chalk drawing. With everything shutting down because of COVID-19, we’re pretty limited in what we can do outside of the house.

// Lily has the BEST dance moves, and I love watching her dance to music!!

// Switched it up today and drew a highway for their cars! It’s wild how long they can walk bent over like this, lol.

// I adore reading with her 🙂

// When we first got married, Steven introduced me to his concoction of “velveeta and egg noodles” and it’s actually quite good! We like to keep this stuff on hand for those nights we’re tired and not really feeling like cooking dinner. This was one of those nights!

// Lily has had the same few puzzle for a long time now, and being in quarantine has had us pretty tired of doing the same ones over and over. Steven went out and bought her seven new puzzles from the dollar store and she wanted to do them all right away!

// My friend, Jenn, knew how sick I had been so she sent me this sweet card and my favorite girl scout cookies 🙂

// Lily was taking care of her “sick patient” but she had to be sure to put on her “gobbles” before she went in to see him. I freaking love her so much!

You can usually find me adding books to my never-ending “to read” list; challenging myself to do things like not shop for a year; sneaking crispy m+ms from my secret hiding spot so I don’t have to share them with my daughter; and melting over seeing my children smiling at each other.

Oh and I guess I should mention - I’m a seasoned Portland wedding photographer who provides not only kick-ass wedding photos, but also a meaningful and laid-back experience from the time you book to the delivery of your final images.

I share all things personal, business, tips, and life as a mom and business owner here on the blog!
