August Photo of the Day

August was a pretty sweet month. We got to travel to MD for Lily to meet my Aunt Anna for the first time. I also realized that I probably can’t travel far distances anymore, haha, it’s so uncomfortable for my body!

Lily and I also visited with friends at Balch Lake for two nights and it was so magical! I think I’m going to make this a yearly tradition. It was just so perfect! When I look back at this summer, I’m realizing just how many beautiful adventures we’ve had despite all the hard stuff we’re going through. I missed a day somehow this month, but it’s all good! I can’t believe how quickly this year is going by!!

// First day in Maryland and we got right in the pool! I was so proud of how comfortable Lily became with the water over the few days we were there! She was so proud of herself for jumping from the steps to my arms!

// As a little girl, I remember feeding the fish with both my grandmother and my Aunt Anna. I’m so thankful that Lily also gets to have this memory as well <3

// We re-created a photo from my childhood 🙂

// Beautiful butterfly bushes! I’m going to have to plant one next year 🙂

// I had this custom made a couple of months ago. My sister helped me hang it up above the stairs to my basement and it’s perfect. I love having it in my home so so much!

// Got some new nail polish that I’m obsessed with!!

// Lily came in this morning all dressed like this – “Mommy I’m all fancied up! Don’t I look so beautiful?!” Melt my heart!

// My new best friend with this pregnancy.

// 29 weeks here?

// At the lakehouse! Kevin was teaching Lily about a Rubiks cube!

// Who we spent our time with at the lake 🙂 We seriously had so much fun. I was only planning to stay one night, but we ended up staying a second because it was just too fun!

// Lily likes to play outside on the steps while I cook dinner, and she loves to do things like this 🙂

// Sea monkeys are going strong!

// We visited Smiling Hill Farm this day and we had the best time! We ordered lunch there and also shared some ice cream together! 🙂

// Winslow beach to be with my best friend on her 30th birthday! I wish I was as cool as Lily is, haha.

// When we were at the lake, Rachel taught us how to make cyanotype art! It came out so cool so I bought special frames to hang them up in Lily’s room!

// Morning vibes watching the intense thunderstorm.

// Making fermented pickles! 🙂

// The plant in Lily’s room died, so we got her a new one 🙂 She potted it all by herself!

// Doing a science experiment called “magic rain.”

// My sister, Lily, and I had the best morning. We got breakfast from a food truck, played at the east end playground, and then explored Cascade Falls for the first time!

// Dinner picnic and the playground! 🙂

// I ordered this beautiful custom dream catcher from Salt Hippy! I just love everything she makes!

// 31 weeks!

// Lily got her second installment of Little Passports, where we learned about the oceans!

// The front steps were looking pretty awful. Spent the day painting them and they look sooooo much better!

/// Instead of doing our usual evening walk around the neighborhood, we did our evening walk at the beach 🙂

// Rainy day calls for painting!

// Remember that time I said I wasn’t going to buy anymore plants, and then I did? Yeah, me too.

// Upgraded a piece of my gear! I haven’t purchased anything new in about 6 years! I’m super excited to have the 750 now!!

You can usually find me adding books to my never-ending “to read” list; challenging myself to do things like not shop for a year; sneaking crispy m+ms from my secret hiding spot so I don’t have to share them with my daughter; and melting over seeing my children smiling at each other.

Oh and I guess I should mention - I’m a seasoned Portland wedding photographer who provides not only kick-ass wedding photos, but also a meaningful and laid-back experience from the time you book to the delivery of your final images.

I share all things personal, business, tips, and life as a mom and business owner here on the blog!
