This past weekend in the Outer Banks was more than just a chance to invest in my business. It was an opportunity to invest in ME. I attended the Salt Air Workshop with my girl, Amanda Hedgepeth, over the weekend and it was so amazing. Not only did I grow as a businesswoman and a photographer, but I was able to truly relax and have the chance to feel refreshed.
I spent a lot of time combing the beach for pretty sea shells and sea glass (only found one tiny piece!), reading The Dark Forest in a hammock, and I finally watched Beauty and the Beast for the first time (SO amazing!)! I have a lot of favorite parts from the workshop, but what I loved the most was the styled shoot and the editing session after!
Thanks to this weekend, I am currently working on two projects that I am excited to release over the next month or two! I just felt a lot of creativity start to flow and sometimes you need some time away for that to happen! I feel so motivated and encouraged to not only keep working SO hard in my business, but to also keep working on getting my life together. There’s things I want to be doing in the self-care department that I’m just not doing yet, and I know that by taking care of this, there will be more room to thrive in my business!
If you are a newer photographer, I cannot recommend workshops enough! They are such a great way to learn from someone you truly respect and look up to! You don’t have to fly out of state to attend one if that’s not your jam – there are a lot of local opportunities around you!
