There are a lot of different ideas of what success is out there. It truly depends on the person. What looks like success to one woman, looks entirely different to another. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking of what my greatest success is for me, and honestly, I think I’ve found it.
My greatest success isn’t tied up in awards, or accolades, or how much money is in my bank account.
I guess I have more than one greatest success. It’s:
- earning the title of “mama.”
- feeling at PEACE with myself and my life.
- no longer comparing my story to someone else’s.
- being able to celebrate other people who succeed, without feeling like they’re taking mine away.
- raising a little girl who knows her worth is NOT tied up in her beauty. But rather, raising a little girl who knows she is strong, smart, kind, funny, a leader, and yes, also beautiful.
- living a simple life that leaves me fulfilled.
- still having dreams for my life and my future.
- being able to curl up with a book during Lily’s nap if I so choose.
- feeling safe in my partner’s arms.
- taking care of my body, even when I’d rather not.
- letting others know that I see them, and I’m here for them. It’s being a best friend.
Recently, I came across a page I had filled out YEARS ago with what my definition of success was. It was tied up in places I was going to see, the amount of weddings I would book in a year, or the amount of money I was going to have.
It’s amazing what time, perspective, and life experiences can do for the soul. I’m so happy that I have a new definition of success, and I want to challenge you today – what is YOUR greatest success?
