How to Live Like a Toddler

Lily keeps me on my toes. She also keeps me laughing – a LOT. Way more than I ever thought I would! Having a child is really fun, hilarious, but also really challenging. There are days I just sit on the floor watching her because I can’t even believe how much she has grown and developed since she was born. It’s probably the most wild thing I’ve experienced!

If you’ve ever wondered what your life would be like if you were a toddler again, wonder no more!

  • You crack yourself up, ALL the time.
  • Playing in the sand and the grass is the best thing ever, but if you get dirt on your hands all bets are off.
  • Going for walks on the beach is super fun because you can shout at all the dogs and people and wave, and people think you’re cute.
  • You can stare at people, and they think it’s cute.
  • When you “share” your things, you simply give it to someone to hold, and then immediately take it back.
  • You try to fit in places that are FAR too small, and then you get upset when you can’t.
  • You get to take a lot of naps, and you are applauded for that.
  • Eating a meal isn’t complete unless the food is all over your face and in your hair, but you are happy about it.
  • You lay down on the floor whenever you see a blanket or a pillow and just rest for a second.
  • Being really cute is just a way of life.

I wish Lily had her own reality TV show because I think it’d be really great. She makes Steven and I laugh so much very regularly and she has such an even and generally happy demeanor. We love her so much! Although I miss the “old days” where she was little, each phase is so fun. It just keeps getting better and better!

We blinked, and we have a TODDLER now!! Life is so good and so sweet. 🙂

You can usually find me adding books to my never-ending “to read” list; challenging myself to do things like not shop for a year; sneaking crispy m+ms from my secret hiding spot so I don’t have to share them with my daughter; and melting over seeing my children smiling at each other.

Oh and I guess I should mention - I’m a seasoned Portland wedding photographer who provides not only kick-ass wedding photos, but also a meaningful and laid-back experience from the time you book to the delivery of your final images.

I share all things personal, business, tips, and life as a mom and business owner here on the blog!
