I’m sure you’re all very surprised to learn that I’ve started another photography project. I did the photo-a-day project in 2020, and I’m so happy I did! However, I always go into that with the intention of flexing my creative muscles, but 98% of the time it just turns out to be a documentary of the year, haha.
So, I was talking to my friend Jenn, and was telling her I was thinking of creating monthly “homework” assignments for photography, so I could just keep trying new things and pushing myself creatively. She loved the idea and decided to join me! So, each month we will take turns choosing a theme and then photographing it! I chose the first theme for January – fruit flat lay.
It’s so cool to just start with a blank slate and just start putting things together for no other purpose than to just CREATE. I love setting this example for Lily. I did this during James’ nap, and Lily was all about joining in. She wanted to create her own flat lays too and I just couldn’t stop smiling while she did it! We took turns creating our pieces, and then I photographed them for us. She even took some photos of me working on mine. It definitely pained me a little bit to cut leaves off of my plants, but I really love what they added to the layouts!
She forced encouraged me to create a third flat lay after I said I was done, and I’m glad she did 🙂 Lily is the best little sidekick and I love seeing her create! It started to get a little weird at the end, because she decided to do a cheese/dairy flat lay, which she then poured into a bowl with water and made “soup” for the rest of the day! Anyway, here are the results!
