A Day In the Life of Lily | Installment 7

“All done! All done!” is what she kept saying as we tried to put her costume on. Apparently she’s not a fan of wearing them, haha. Once it was on she kept it on for a while! It made it easier that her friends were also wearing costumes 🙂

I am SO proud of us for keeping this photo series going – we started it a year ago!! Every time we do this, I end up with some of my favorite photos ever of our sweet little girl! We did her last “day in the life” on October 29, 2017 and it was such a fun day! That was the day of Clare’s halloween party for the kids and it was a blast! I wasn’t sure what Lily was going to be for Halloween this year, and I really didn’t care if she had one because she’s so little. But, a few days prior, Steven said kind of quietly – “I think it’d be fun to make her a costume.” I was ALL for that! It seems there’s always a project happening when we do this photo project!

Steven always thought it was cool growing up when people had homemade costumes, so he loved the idea of making one for Lily. We had a bunch of orange stuff, so a pumpkin costume was born! Steven spent most of that morning and afternoon making it for the party, and we love how it came out! She’s such a cute pumpkin 🙂 I also have an idea of what we will all be next year, and I’m pretty excited about it, haha.

Anyway, since her last installment:

  • Lily is officially walking as her primary source of transportation! When I was in North Carolina for a workshop, that was when she decided that’s how she wants to get around! It’s so fun now 🙂
  • One of her favorite things to do is relax anywhere in the house. We will often turn around and find her just laying down on the floor somewhere, just chilling and kicking her feet.
  • She has 12 teeth.
  • She can climb her high chair, but we only let her do it when Daddy is right there with her.
  • Lily has never really shown too much interest in coloring before, but we gave her a coloring book that morning and she was so adorable and sat there and colored for a while! Hands down one of my favorite photos of her ever.
  • We like to go outside whenever we can, and she knows what she wants! She’s perfectly content to just walk down the road ahead of us, haha.
  • At the end of September we found this little playhouse on the side of the road for free, so we grabbed it and cleaned it up! Lily seems to have a lot of fun in there 🙂
  • Lily loves trying to put on socks and shoes, regardless of whose they are! She’s getting pretty good at it!
  • One of her other favorite things to do is just carry things around the house as she walks back and forth.
  • She still loves to sew with Daddy. I’m so happy that she’s so curious and engaged!

You can usually find me adding books to my never-ending “to read” list; challenging myself to do things like not shop for a year; sneaking crispy m+ms from my secret hiding spot so I don’t have to share them with my daughter; and melting over seeing my children smiling at each other.

Oh and I guess I should mention - I’m a seasoned Portland wedding photographer who provides not only kick-ass wedding photos, but also a meaningful and laid-back experience from the time you book to the delivery of your final images.

I share all things personal, business, tips, and life as a mom and business owner here on the blog!
