7 years later

Steven,

How has it already been 7 years? It already feels like we’ve experienced a lifetime together already, but I can remember those days living in our first apartment together like it was yesterday. We’ve grown so much as a couple, and I’m so proud that we are still standing here today. I wouldn’t necessarily say that we complete each other, because we are our own individual beings, but I firmly believe that we make each other better. Like how peanut butter makes oreos better. They’re great on their own, but you put them together and it’s better than you would’ve thought!

I’m grateful that we’ve never stopped trying to understand each other better; that we communicate like our marriage depends on it (which it does); that our attraction to each other has never faded; that we are a true team in our roles as parents to our daughter; and that we are constantly evaluating what we want our life to look like, and then making it happen. Our marriage isn’t perfect, and we’ve definitely had our shares of struggles, but we always choose love above anything else. Yes, we work on our marriage, but it isn’t work to me. Being married to you is like sleeping in on a Saturday morning – cozy, amazing, and exactly what you hoped for and more.

I knew that the day I said “I do” to you would be one of the best days of my life, but I didn’t realize that would just be a taste of what was to come. Happy 7th anniversary! I love you more than words can ever say, and I’m so grateful that we’ve built a life of joy and adventure together.

xoxo

You can usually find me adding books to my never-ending “to read” list; challenging myself to do things like not shop for a year; sneaking crispy m+ms from my secret hiding spot so I don’t have to share them with my daughter; and melting over seeing my children smiling at each other.

Oh and I guess I should mention - I’m a seasoned Portland wedding photographer who provides not only kick-ass wedding photos, but also a meaningful and laid-back experience from the time you book to the delivery of your final images.

I share all things personal, business, tips, and life as a mom and business owner here on the blog!
