Happy 6th Wedding Anniversary!

Oh Steven,

Can you believe that it’s been SIX years today since we got married? The days have flown by but I still remember so much of our story, so clearly. Sometimes I long for the days we lived in Skowhegan. The first year of our marriage was so so sweet, despite being apart for some of it due to jobs, but we always made it work. Do you remember how we slept on that twin sized mattress in Skowhegan, and then upgraded to an air mattress in Portland? I don’t know how we ever managed to sleep on either of those for so long! Oh and our futon. That was our bed once for a hot second! We still have that futon to this day – it was our first big purchase together as a couple and it was so funny fitting that box in the back of our little Honda Insight! People must have thought we were crazy driving like that!

I love every single adventure we’ve had together and we’ve been fortunate to have so many! I wouldn’t trade these trips for anything.

I’ve been unsure of a lot of things over the past six years, but I’ve never once been unsure about you and our marriage. You are truly the only person I ever want to live out life with.

Thank you for always supporting and encouraging me. You constantly help me be the best version of myself that I can possibly be, and let’s face it, sometimes I really really need help with that.

I remember worrying about how becoming parents might change us as a couple. I was so scared that I’d lose myself, and that we’d lose sight of the fact that we are husband and wife first, before we are mom and dad. In the past year I’ve realized that I had nothing to worry about. If anything, I feel such a deeper and intimate love for you that has come from watching you be the best father I could ever imagine for our daughter.

Thank you for being a part of my life for the past six years and seven months. It wouldn’t be the same without you! Thank you for thinking I was cute when I wore sweatpants, a sweatshirt, and baseball hat for three days during that CRMA training. If it wasn’t for that, I don’t think we’d be where we are today!

I know that we will continue to keep working to be the best couple we can be – by communicating and always working to make time for each other and our relationship.

I love you so incredibly much!!

Happy 6th anniversary, my love 🙂

You can usually find me adding books to my never-ending “to read” list; challenging myself to do things like not shop for a year; sneaking crispy m+ms from my secret hiding spot so I don’t have to share them with my daughter; and melting over seeing my children smiling at each other.

Oh and I guess I should mention - I’m a seasoned Portland wedding photographer who provides not only kick-ass wedding photos, but also a meaningful and laid-back experience from the time you book to the delivery of your final images.

I share all things personal, business, tips, and life as a mom and business owner here on the blog!
