2014 | Personal

2014. What an incredible year. Something in my heart changed this year. I finally realized that life is what I make out of it. ME. Not anyone else. There is no one to blame or to make excuses to about where I am in my life. It’s mine and mine only.

I get to share it with an amazing man who supports every dream that I’ve dared to dream out loud.

I’ve dreamed out loud A LOT in 2014. I’m inspired. I was able to travel this year. I focused on memories and moments instead of things and money. I decided this year that I’m going to make my dreams come true, just because I can. There’s no reason why they can’t. Well, unless I dream up something along the lines of world peace.

I managed to grow a business even more, and start a second one; read book after book; take photos; travel; sleep; do yoga; take care of my body; laugh; focus more on my relationships; learned all kinds of new things – like arm knitting and how to french braid my own hair; and just be.

2014 has been amazing. Filled with my share of struggles just like everyone else, but so much happiness and joy was in my life and in my heart this year.

There’s a fire in my soul that just won’t dampen, and that’s exactly how I know that 2015 is going to be just as great, if not more, as 2014. I’m going to continue to dream out loud and live my life to MY own standards. I’m going to find every way possible to fuel this fire.

I started to create my own path this past year. I’m going to continue on that path this year, and every year for the rest of my life.

That is my only resolution – to live a life where I feel fulfilled, on my own terms.

You can usually find me adding books to my never-ending “to read” list; challenging myself to do things like not shop for a year; sneaking crispy m+ms from my secret hiding spot so I don’t have to share them with my daughter; and melting over seeing my children smiling at each other.

Oh and I guess I should mention - I’m a seasoned Portland wedding photographer who provides not only kick-ass wedding photos, but also a meaningful and laid-back experience from the time you book to the delivery of your final images.

I share all things personal, business, tips, and life as a mom and business owner here on the blog!
