I had gotten a text from Steven while I was shooting a wedding on Peaks Island. He told me that Lily had fallen and gotten her first fat lip. Two days later we got to do her next “Day in the Life” installment, and in the photos you can still see the slight remnants from where she cut her lip.
I was worried we weren’t going to get to do her next installment for a while longer because of wedding season, but Steven had Labor Day off from work, so that’s when we did it! We love spending time together as a family, even if it’s as simple as hanging out at home! We did a lot of playing and reading as usual, but we also explored a new trail that’s not far from our house! It’s not a very long trail yet, but it’s really pretty and we enjoyed exploring it!
Since her last installment:
- Lily is standing up all by herself.
- She has taken her first steps! She only walks when we beg her to, and it’s only a few steps, but I know that when she’s ready she’ll be running before we know it!
- We have ended breastfeeding and she’s drinking from a 360 cup like a pro!
- She loves to say “all done,” “uh oh,” and still says “da” for a lot of things, haha.
- Lily has 11 teeth now. Those molars sure are taking their sweet time, but they’re all coming in at once!
- Oh my gosh, Lily is DANCING now and it’s seriously the cutest thing ever! If she’s sitting she’ll just move her shoulders back and forth so her whole upper body is moving, and if she’s standing she shakes her little booty and I love it so much!
- She can climb up onto the couch and the futon now. She’s also really good at getting herself back down safely!
- Daddy is teaching her how to climb her high chair.
- One of her favorite things to do while we’re in the kitchen is pull herself up on the sewing table and see what she can reach.
- Lily still spends most of her day laughing and smiling and we are so thankful 🙂
I don’t know how we got so blessed with the sweetest girl in the world, but every day I’m so grateful that we get to be her parents!
