Reflecting on summer | Business edition

Things never seem to go the way we’d like them to. I had big ideas for my business this summer, and I did not get them all done.  However, instead of those things on my list that didn’t get done, I was able to add things to my list that I accomplished! So, overall, I feel pretty good about it! Plus, I was also focusing quite a bit on my personal projects. I tend to focus more on business during the school year – talk about a weird order!

I was able to get more of my business organized and squared away. This is so important to me so that I can be efficient and consistent in what I do. The weddings I was a part of were amazing and beautiful, and I am so excited for my four remaining weddings this season! I also was able to get a couple of extra things done that I were not even on my radar! One is a secret for my brides that I am pretty excited about – it took a lot of hours to create it!

What I learned is that it is very important to realize that it is OK if you don’t get all of your goals accomplished. Don’t view it as a negative. Instead, look at all the things you were able to accomplish! That immediately will make the situation brighter and you’ll feel better about it!

You can usually find me adding books to my never-ending “to read” list; challenging myself to do things like not shop for a year; sneaking crispy m+ms from my secret hiding spot so I don’t have to share them with my daughter; and melting over seeing my children smiling at each other.

Oh and I guess I should mention - I’m a seasoned Portland wedding photographer who provides not only kick-ass wedding photos, but also a meaningful and laid-back experience from the time you book to the delivery of your final images.

I share all things personal, business, tips, and life as a mom and business owner here on the blog!
