Portland, Maine Photographer :: How to be a good wife

Day two in the blog everyday in May challenge is educating us on something that I know a lot about or am good at. At first, I was really stumped about what to do for this one, so I asked my husband. This is how our conversation went:

“Honey, what is something I’m really good at?”

“You’re really good at photography.”

“Something besides that. The theme for day two in the blog everyday in May challenge is about educating about something I’m good at.”

“You’re good at being a good wife.”

*insert laughter here*

Wait a minute. I really am good at being a good wife. So, I thought I’d share some tips 😉

Always know where he puts something. He’ll forget pretty much instantly. You’ll become an item-locator that he can’t live without.

Get him his favorite candy bar when you’re filling up the car. He’ll think you’re the best thing, and he’ll know you really love him.

Always communicate. Don’t be afraid to tell him what’s up!

Make a deal with him. He puts the clothes in the washer and dryer, and you put them away. It’s much better this way – I promise. That way you’re not finding long sleeved shirts mixed in with your tank tops 🙂

Make sure he sets his alarm before bed time.

Help him pack snacks for day trips with his friends.

Force him to stand oh-so-pretty while you test out your  newest ideas for poses for your photography practice.

Make a compromise and watch Ip Man so that he’ll watch Moulin Rouge with you.

Cook a delicious meal for him.

Support his endeavors in making modifications to the car.

But really, just love him, and let him know you love him. Plus, everything I mentioned above 🙂

You can usually find me adding books to my never-ending “to read” list; challenging myself to do things like not shop for a year; sneaking crispy m+ms from my secret hiding spot so I don’t have to share them with my daughter; and melting over seeing my children smiling at each other.

Oh and I guess I should mention - I’m a seasoned Portland wedding photographer who provides not only kick-ass wedding photos, but also a meaningful and laid-back experience from the time you book to the delivery of your final images.

I share all things personal, business, tips, and life as a mom and business owner here on the blog!
