“I’ve come to realize that yoga is my spirituality. It is my religion. Its teachings, practices, discipline are my guidelines. I realize now, after having paused my yoga practice for running training, that my yoga practice breathes life into my shell of a body, it brings depth to my physical world. I believe, in the words of Srimati, that we are spiritual beings having a human experience.” – Michelle.
I was 26 weeks pregnant and hiking up a mountain in Maine when I met Michelle for the first time. She and Steven had been friends for a while and I had heard only amazing things about her. Within just a few minutes of being around her I knew she had such a wise, old, yet passionate and kind soul. She’s one of my favorite friends and I love having her be a part of our lives!
Here are the most important things you need to know about Michelle: –
- She’s REALLY great at doing yoga, and living the ideals of what yoga stands for.
- She’s one of the most honest people I’ve met, even when it’s easier to not be.
- Michelle laughs with her whole face and I love it 🙂
- I can say with certainty that she’s the kind of friend everyone needs in their life.
- Michelle is an incredibly fierce woman and is such an inspiration!
I was so honored when she asked me to do photos of her practice, and it was really fun to do something new! She teaches yoga at Evo Portland on Mondays at 7pm, and Studio 72 on India St on Wednesday evenings!
