Portland, Maine Photographer :: Unplugged Weddings

Day 26 –  Something you read online. Leave a link and discuss, if you’d like.

I recently read this article about unplugged weddings, where a photographer actually laid out – with examples – all the reasons why weddings should be unplugged. I have to say that I do agree with it! I believe that the couple is paying a professional a significant amount of money to capture their day (a day that only happens once, mind you, with no do-overs) and that professional should be the one responsible for photos. It’s really sort of sad that we have to compete against guests who aren’t necessarily mindful of the fact that we are there for the bride and groom, and our job is capture priceless memories.

Put the cameras away and BE in the moment. Don’t watch it all through an LCD screen. Enjoy it and soak it up and trust that the photographers will do their job and those photos will soon be available for all to see.

Here is the link to the article: Bridal Guide

What are your thoughts and opinions on unplugged weddings? I’d love to hear what you have to say!

You can usually find me adding books to my never-ending “to read” list; challenging myself to do things like not shop for a year; sneaking crispy m+ms from my secret hiding spot so I don’t have to share them with my daughter; and melting over seeing my children smiling at each other.

Oh and I guess I should mention - I’m a seasoned Portland wedding photographer who provides not only kick-ass wedding photos, but also a meaningful and laid-back experience from the time you book to the delivery of your final images.

I share all things personal, business, tips, and life as a mom and business owner here on the blog!
