Homemade Salsa | Recipe

I have recently discovered that I LOVE making fresh, homemade salsa! And, not to toot my own horn or anything, but I’m pretty dang good at it! My recipe has evolved since the first time I tried this at the end of the summer, and I LOVE it. Here it is!

Ingredients:

  • 4 tomatoes
  • 5 cloves of garlic – I really like garlic, so this is up to you!
  • a little more than 1/2 a red onion
  • corn
  • 1 can black beans
  • 2 red peppers
  • 2 limes
  • I add 2 or 3 hot peppers
  • basil (eyeball it)
  • cilantro (eyeball it)
  • oregano (eyeball it)

#2. Dice up all your remaining ingredients, except for the limes. DSC_0298

#3. Throw everything into a mixing bowl. Squeeze two limes over the bowl and mix everything in. DSC_0301

#4. Add your seasonings to taste and serve with chips! I find that it tastes better if I let it sit for a couple of hours before eating for the first time. The flavors really meld together! 🙂
