2018 Book List

It’s no secret that I LOVE to read! I try to bring a book with me wherever I go (this was especially true pre-baby) because you just never know when you”ll get a few minutes to read! I’m trying to instill this in Lily as well, and try to always make sure there’s a book in her diaper bag.

Over the past year and a half, I’ve been finding myself reading non-fiction books, that aren’t specifically for business, and they aren’t memoirs. They’re more like inspirational books, and I’ve been loving them. They’re breathing some life back into my life and I’m craving more! One of my goals for 2018 is to read one life-giving book a month. However, when I was researching and creating my list, I couldn’t keep it to twelve and ended up with sixteen books on the list. Four can be found at the library and the rest I’ll try to borrow from friends or buy used! So, we’ll see how this goes this year!

Here are the books in no particular order!

  • Thrive by Arianna Huffington
  • The Best Yes by Lysa TerKeurst
  • The Magnolia Story by Chip + Joanna Gaines
  • Loving My Actual Life by Alexandra Kuykendall
  • Make it Happen by Lara Casey
  • You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero
  • Love Does by Bob Goff
  • The Life Giving Home by Sally + Sarah Clarkson
  • Unglued by Lysa TerKeurst
  • If You Find This Letter by Hannah Brencher
  • Uninvited by Lysa TerKeurst
  • Gift From the Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh
  • For the Love by Jen Hatmaker
  • Present Over Perfect by Shauna Niequist
  • The Road Back To you by Ian Morgan Cron
  • The Tech-Wise Family by Andy Crouch

I’m starting this month with Present Over Perfect because I’ve heard SO many good things about it! I can’t wait! I’ll be sharing blog posts as we go throughout the year and I finish each book. Have you read any of these books before? If so, tell me in the comments! Or, what’s on your reading list?!

You can usually find me adding books to my never-ending “to read” list; challenging myself to do things like not shop for a year; sneaking crispy m+ms from my secret hiding spot so I don’t have to share them with my daughter; and melting over seeing my children smiling at each other.

Oh and I guess I should mention - I’m a seasoned Portland wedding photographer who provides not only kick-ass wedding photos, but also a meaningful and laid-back experience from the time you book to the delivery of your final images.

I share all things personal, business, tips, and life as a mom and business owner here on the blog!
