I REALLY love watching Gilmore Girls. It’s one of the few TV shows I can watch again and again and not get tired of it! I didn’t watch it while it was on air, but I watched it for the first time on Netflix a few years back and I’ve been hooked ever since! Gilmore Girls is one of those shows that seems to do a really good job of showcasing real life. Sure, I don’t think towns like Stars Hollow actually exist in real life (maybe they do – I’ve just never encountered them!) but everything that the characters go through are things that I can relate to!
Here are the major things I’ve learned from the Lorelais:
- Your house doesn’t need to look like it came from a magazine. It just needs to FEEL like home!
- You can be a woman and be in a position of authority in your workplace! I just love that Sookie and Lorelai opened up their own inn, despite all the challenges they faced!
- Being smart really is important! And it always will be.
- You shouldn’t be around yachts when you’re angry.
- Be yourself and go after what makes you happy.
- Take-out food is its own food group.
- Though it might not always be easy to hear, sometimes your mom has the best advice.
- Your best friend will always matter more than boys, and sometimes we lose sight of that, but it’s important to let your friends know what they mean to you!
- There’s something to be said about being a regular at a local coffee shop 🙂 #goals.
Well, there you have it. 9 life lessons that I hope to someday share with Lily! What about you? Do you like the show?
